Our mission as the "Center for Handicrafts Research and Application (ESAM)" at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University includes:

- To carry out research and experimentation in technical, scientific, and artistic fields aimed at developing contemporary designs of traditional crafts.
  
- To compile examples of Çanakkale handicrafts and create traditional and contemporary collections.
  
- To conduct literature reviews on traditional handicrafts, gather visual and audiovisual materials such as books, magazines, films, and paintings, and ensure their utilization.
  
- To collaborate with domestic and international universities, institutions, organizations, and industrial enterprises on the subject.
  
- To organize national and international events (panels, workshops, discussions, competitions, conferences, symposiums, etc.) in collaboration with stakeholders.
  
- To conduct research on traditional handicrafts and publish the findings.
  
- To emphasize the social, cultural, and economic importance of our handicrafts for our country, ensuring their transmission as a cultural heritage to future generations, and promoting their regional forms domestically and internationally.

Our vision as the "Center for Handicrafts Research and Application (ESAM)" at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University is to lead in the transmission of sufficient knowledge and expertise about the historical evolution of Traditional Handicrafts to future generations.
